SAP Consultant in Bangladesh

As SAP has in the Bangladesh market for more than 14 years. And it has grown remarkably fast in last decade. I have done a research in Bangladesh market that if more than 50 companies are now using SAP than there should be a strong support of consultants. I had lots of chat with SAP partners about Bangladesh resource or SAP consultant in Bangladesh for SAP and its opportunities. If this 50 companies depend on the local consultants than there must be dependable consultants already in the market among them lots are SAP certified consultants. 

Let’s have a small analysis, if every companies having at least 5 consultants in their ERP support team than the number will be 200, you may disagree with my opinion that those 200 consultants are not SAP expert or experienced enough to do another implementation. I agree with you, and for sake of argument let’s say 10 to 20 percent of those consultants are not experienced enough, so remain 80 percent of 200 that is about 160 consultants can do implementation. Now I have got 160 consultants in Bangladesh for SAP implementation. But I have a different view as well, among we have implemented SAP with partner, we have also experienced that most of the partners put 15 to 20 percent fresh consultants in their implementation project most of them are very new to this area not having functional as well as SAP experience, basically they are helping the senior consultants. So, this kind of trick we can also do with our local consultants.

Recently we have tried to find out how many of the SAP consulates having confidence for a new implementation and found very positive approach among the people, I have attended the last seminar of “Association of SAP Professionals in Bangladesh” which having about 160 members from over 40 SAP clients all over Bangladesh, and found that lots of consultants blaming the local management for not giving opportunities. So resource is there for move with the biggest ERP vendor in the world.

I have discussed with top 5 successful SAP clients and their responsible person about their plan and resource. 90% of them agreed that the local SAP Expert team can give them support and there is very rare that those companies are going for foreign support contacts. They all emphasis to build local resource more to have the market stable.

Once one of my colleague put an interesting question to me" How many certified consultants Bangladesh have to do the SAP implementation and make it successful" Hmmm. good point! i asked Why you look for certified consultants for the job ? i have shared my real life experience with him and now shearing with all. "I had arranged an interview for to recruit SAP consultants expert for my new implementation project, and found some certified interviewee so i got more interest, in interview session i was trying the find the knowledge level of both functional and configuration level for my project. i have asked a question if raw material is entering to my store what will be the accounting entry, but unfortunately one of the certified consultant (related to that module) couldn't answer the same, i got more interest and keep asking him the configuration level question fom CO-PA, AP, AR etc, every answer was negative, i couldn't control myself rather asking him how and why he did the certification. The participant agreed his lacking and told that he did the certification as he got some suggestion to do that though he doesn't have the functional or practical knowledge or even SAP "   So point is to be noted that to do the SAP Implementation experiance and expertise is needed in real life its not mandatory to have SAP Certified Consultants. But the main important person is needed is the experienced Project Manager who can plan for the initial preparation before the project start.
